“Rotary Club” from Doboj completed two months ago a humanitarian action for the purchase of a new medical vehicle with associated equipment. The action was carried out in cooperation with “Rotary Club International” and a partner club from Germany, and the Municipality of Derventa, Derventa Health Center and five Derventa businessmen participated in the fundraising.
For the needs of the Doboj hospital, a new medical vehicle “Mercedes” with the necessary accompanying equipment, total value of 200 thousand KM and a mobile incubator, total value of 50 thousand KM, was acquired. The “Rotary Club International” secured three quarters of the necessary funds for the vehicle, while the rest of the funds for the vehicle and the incubator were collected by the “Rotary Club” of Doboj, with the help of donors from Derventa.
The delegation of the Doboj club visited the mayor of the municipality Milorada Simić yesterday and presented him with a thank you note for the donation. Certificates of thanks were also presented to Mirko Šaran, director of the Derventa Health Center and the companies “Ehta-R”, “Gataric”, “K-uni plus”, “Niveks” and “Nada”.”Today we took the opportunity to thank the local community and socially responsible companies from the area of the Derventa municipality for helping us to successfully implement this humanitarian action,” said Nenad Stojaković, president of the Doboj club, and expressed the hope that a “Rotary Club” would be formed in Derventa as well.
Mayor Simić expressed his satisfaction that the municipality and Derventa businessmen participated in the procurement of an ambulance for the needs of the entire Doboj region. “Having such a vehicle in the region that will quickly treat patients with a stroke or heart attack is a big deal. It is especially a big challenge to have a mobile incubator in that vehicle so that even babies born prematurely can, if necessary, be safely transferred to larger centers. This was a need for about 400 thousand inhabitants of this region. of the region”, said Mayor Simić.
“This step of the “Rotary Club” is a big step forward. I am a doctor by profession, so I know what quick and effective help means in certain situations. I know what it means to have a well-equipped and functional ambulance because without it there is no quality healthcare service. The goal of all of us, from prevention through the primary to the hospital sector and the clinic, is to educate the staff and purchase the most modern equipment,” said the director of the Health Center.
“Rotary Club” is a humanitarian non-profit organization that organizes humanitarian actions to help associations, institutions or individuals in the community. The organization in the world counts about 27 thousand clubs. There are currently 15 clubs operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
