Officer for local economic development (LER), within the Mayor’s Professional Service and in coordination with the Department for Economy and Social Activities of the City Administration of Derventa, is the key bearer and coordinator of tasks in the field of local economic development. The LED officer systematically contributes to the improvement of the business environment, attracting investments, increasing the competitiveness of business entities, reducing unemployment and improving the overall quality of life of all citizens of the City of Derventa.

Key tasks:

• Implementing activities aimed at creating better working conditions and improving the competitiveness of existing businessmen and entrepreneurs and supporting potential investors,
• General improvement of the business environment in the City of Derventa,
• Promoting the local economy,
• Finding and attracting domestic and foreign investors,
• Providing support to business entities and entrepreneurs operating on the territory of the City,
• Improving, shortening and simplifying administrative procedures for businessmen and entrepreneurs,
• Finding donor funds for development projects,
• Creation and improvement of mechanisms for training and development of the workforce.

The work plan and objectives in the field of local economic development are divided into several areas. The main directions of action are aimed at attracting domestic and foreign investments, supporting the existing business community and improving the public-private dialogue. Through their work, the LER officer and other associates in the Department in charge of economic affairs strive to improve the business climate in the City of Derventa and encourage faster economic development of the municipality and improvement of the quality of life, both in urban and rural areas.
