The four-day 13th Agricultural Manifestation of the Association of Agricultural Producers “Lan” from Velika Sočanica ended yesterday with the distribution of awards to the most successful farmers from the Derventa area.
The organizers managed to prepare a rich program and satisfy visitors and participants with their organization. In addition to good company, sports games and potlucks, new knowledge was gained in the field of agriculture and business connections were made.
“We organized a meeting of producers of different categories. We started with a night football tournament, events for the youth, because our villages are slowly becoming deserted, in order to gather lovers of original music on the second evening.and in the end declared the most successful producers in Derventa, who fight every day in difficult conditions”, said Željko Lazarevic, president of the organizing committee.
Municipality of Derventa gives wholehearted support and encouragement to both agricultural producers and the organization of this event. The deputy mayor of the Derventa municipality Siniša Jeftić says that one of the goals of this fair is to show young people the beautiful side of rural life.
“I congratulate the organizers for their perseverance all these years, as well as the farmers of our municipality, more than 1,100 of them registered, including 120 commercial farms,” Jeftić said.Agricultural producers attach a lot of importance to this event because, as they say, it should be given a chance to restore and improve life in the countryside, which is talked about a lot here, but also to show the image of a beautiful and successful rural community where life is not difficult and from which young people do not leave.
“I have participated every year until now, from the beginning, when this was just a cow exhibition and almost every year I was the best,” says milk producer Stanoje Lazarević, while sheep breeder Nada Kukić pointed out that there are fewer and fewer people in the villages, and that society must turn to the countryside, and not destroy it systematically, because there are no cities without strong villages.By the way, the largest dairy farmer in the municipality is Rade Ćudić from Crnča with a production of more than 400,000 liters of milk per year, while Pećić Drago is the largest sow breeder with 24 pieces. The largest area under greenhouses, slightly more than 1,800 square meters, is owned by Goran Čokić, while Eminović Rasim from Dubočac has as many as 550 bee colonies. The largest cattle breeder, with around 250 cattle, is AD “Poljoprivrednik”, while Zdravko Grozdanović from Polje is the largest breeder with more than 260,000 chickens, and Dragan Kulaga from Trstenac is the largest shepherd.
