Twenty-five trainees from Derventa and Gradiška started training for CNC operators within the project “Partnership for sustainable knowledge transfer of local economic development”. The training is planned to last about 100 hours and will be intensified because participants from Derventa have to attend training every other day in Gradiška. The training will be attended by 13 participants from Derventa who hope to find their place in the Derventa economy, which is increasingly turning to the application of modern technologies.
The importance of the training and the project itself was emphasized by the deputy mayor of the municipality, Siniša Jeftić. “We have to monitor the needs of the economy for suitable personnel and that is our commitment. At the end of last year, a survey was carried out about the necessary personnel in companies in the metal sector, which resulted in the fact that, for the first time, the profession of CNC technology technician was enrolled in secondary schools,” Jeftić pointed out.
At the beginning of June, as part of the project, 3 CNC trainers were donated to the Vocational and Technical School in Derventa for the training of CNC technicians.By acquiring these machines, the school will also benefit greatly from this project, as it will enable students to receive practical and theoretical training on modern technologies and to leave the school as experts with the right knowledge, which will enable them to quickly find employment.
Srđan Nović, the project coordinator in front of the municipality of Derventa, expressed regret because no one started training for welders even though there were those interested. “Year after year, the metal sector is expanding, which is why it is now facing a large shortage of welders even though salaries range from 800 to 1,500 KM,” said Nović.
The most interested in training on CNC machines are people who want to improve their knowledge in the metal sector, but also those who want to retrain in order to get a certificate recognized in the European Union, because there is a strong need for this type of worker.
