Yesterday, the management of the municipality held a working meeting with the principals of secondary schools and Derventa businessmen, where they discussed the possibilities and methods of forming the “Foundation for Technical Technological Education and Entrepreneurship”, as a resource center that could respond to the needs of schools and individual companies in terms of technical equipment and expertise, for additional training for the technical profession, as well as for the retraining and retraining of students and adults.
Namely, two secondary schools in Derventa have been training informatics and energy technicians for years without connection with the economy, so a large number of these personnel are at the Employment Agency in Derventa. However, the companies that operate in the area of the municipality express the need for technicians and engineers in the mechanical profession, but high schools do not educate mechanical technicians, CNC operators and welders, for whom there is a need in the labor market.
One of the main reasons why these deficit personnel are not educated is certainly the technical lack of equipment in schools and the lack of professional staff.
Mayor Milorad Simić also supported the project.- What Derventa is doing is a good thing, this is something we can nurture step by step. We have that sensitivity when it comes to foreign investors and advanced technologies and we support good ideas. We have created a reputation that we can open doors to foreign investors much more easily than others, they recognize us as a good destination for investment. Derventa, as one of the most developed municipalities in the RS and BiH, should take its share of the cake and lead this story. They say that through this story we will be the first in Bosnia and Herzegovina, I will be satisfied if we are also the first in the region, said Chief Simić.
In his opening speech, Igor Žunić, a member of the NSRS, pointed out that it is planned to create a center in Derventa for training, practice, retraining and retraining and everything related to CNC machines and the IT sector.
There were three versions about the establishment of the center, which are still in circulation. The first version envisages going towards the school and making the school the central place where training will take place, the school building some kind of relationship with businessmen. Another version envisages a center where it can be “entered” privately and on a commercial basis. The third, in my opinion, the most acceptable, is for it to be one foundation that would involve us all in that story, for the board to include all businessmen who are interested, for the municipality and schools, and for us to jointly develop something that can be a big thing for Derventa, for the staff here and even in the regional framework, said Žunić.
Goran Knežević from “Digital Electronics” introduced the audience to the idea of the organizational structure of the Foundation for Technical Technological Education and Entrepreneurship (FTTEP), goals and activities, as well as the formation itself, who is also one of the initiators of the idea for this project and who is ready to “direct” his knowledge and experience in this area to the realization of this project.
The founders of FTTEP would be the municipality of Derventa, the Secondary School Center “Mihajlo Pupin”, the Vocational and Technical School and 8 foreign and three domestic companies in the field of electronics and mechanical engineering. The foundation would have a director, management and supervisory board, and the assembly of the foundation would consist of representatives of all the founders. The center would achieve its self-sustainability through courses, seminars, leasing of resources, mechanical engineering services, design services of machine parts with CNC equipment, implementation of projects financed from European pre-accession funds. Part of the funds would be collected from donors and through various project activities. The funds of the foundation would also provide scholarships to gifted pupils and students, student projects, promotion of scientific achievements.
The FTTEP resource center would be physically located within the middle school center and thus available for the needs of both middle schools. The educational center would consist of two classrooms and three laboratories, for mechanical engineering, electronics and computing, each of which would have the necessary equipment. The classrooms would have a capacity of 24 user seats and would be equipped with a projector and a smart board. The schedule of activities in the center itself would be determined.
The total funds foreseen for the implementation of the project idea amount to about 600 thousand euros, and the sources of financing would be the public sector (Municipality of Derventa and the Government of the RS), the private sector (founding companies and companies that would donate equipment, software and services) and international institutions (embassies and organizations). The beginning of the functioning of the center is planned for September 2017, by which time the mechanical laboratory should be formed, the space arranged and the necessary equipment acquired, and this would be the realization of the first phase of this project, while the realization of the II and III phases would be until September 2018, with the establishment of an electronic and computer laboratory, the purchase of CNC machines, and the installation of an exhibition space.
The establishment of FTTEP was supported by the company “Teximp” from Zenica, which will give the Foundation two CNC machines for a period of two years, then the companies “Geometrix”, “Strojotehnika” and Telekom Srpske.
