Pavo and Roberta “revived” the old estate

It is known that Posavina is an agricultural region, and the area around Derventa is God-given for plum processing. More and more entrepreneurs are discovering the plum as a raw material for various delicious products, and working in nature is also very healthy and desirable. The business couple Roberta Vrabec and Pavo Brkljača returned to Bijelo Brdo near Derventa. They invest in fruit growing.

They returned to Pavino‘s birthplace – Bijelo Brdo near Derventa and two years ago started a business in fruit growing. In memory of Pavin’s grandfather, they named the whole project “Did’s plum tree”.

– I have been here since childhood. Born, raised. At the age of 18, I already left home. I went to the army, then to Germany, Austria, Zagreb. Now I hope that this is a permanent destination, Pavo is excited to speak and says that he has now turned to another job. By the way, until now he was engaged in construction.

Pavo says that he cannot be unemployed and do nothing, and the production of plums was Roberta’s idea, so after many years of work in construction, they have now turned to agriculture.

– My idea is to plant plums, Pavo didn’t really like picking them as a child, but now he has decided too. We planted 3,500 plum seedlings two years ago. This year’s planting is about 5,000 new seedlings, and next year about 3,000 new ones. It means that we will have 11 ha of plums, says Mrs. Roberta.

Pavo says that their children are already grown up and that they have built their own lives and have their own plans, and he and Mrs. Roberta have their own.

– We have a lot to do here. In a way, it will be both work and rest, but also a memory of parents and father and grandfather. Sljivik had a grandfather, a father had one, so I have one too, concludes Pavo.

Roberta and Pavo decided to continue their lives in pure nature, work with it and harvest its fruits. If everything goes as planned, “Did’s plum” should become a Posavina brand, but also more broadly, Roberta and Pavo are also thinking about a processing plant.
