Twenty-five participants from Gradiska and Derventa started free training for CNC operators within the project “Partnership for sustainable knowledge transfer of local economic development”.
The training, expected to last 100 working hours, will be intensive, because the participants from Derventa have to travel to Gradiska every other day. As there was great interest, the number of participants was increased from ten to thirteen.
“I signed up to further improve my knowledge,” says Dragan, a student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Banja Luka.
Derventa’s economy is increasingly turning to the application of modern metal and wood processing technologies, so the participants also hope to find their place in the economy.
“This occupation is in high demand on the labor market and pays solidly”, says Vladan, one of the participants from Derventa.
The importance of the training and the project itself was emphasized by the deputy mayor of the municipality, Siniša Jeftić: «We must monitor the needs of the economy for suitable personnel and that is our commitment. At the end of last year, a survey of staffing needs in companies in the metal sector was carried out, from which it emerged that, for the first time, the profession of CNC technology technician was enrolled in high school”, revealed Jeftić.Srđan Nović, the project coordinator in front of the municipality of Derventa, expressed his regret that no one had started training for welders, although there were those interested. “Year after year, the metal sector is expanding, which is why it is now facing a major shortage of welders, even though salaries range from 800 to 1,500 marks,” says Nović.
Within the mentioned project, Derventa Vocational and Technical School in the past period received 3 CNC trainers with appropriate programs for working on them.
