The mayor of the municipality, Milorad Simić, with his colleagues, visited the location where the building of the German company “Vebo Bosnia” will be built and attended the official start of the preparatory works.
As part of the facility, an administrative building for constructors and a production hall are planned.
“Vebo Bosnia” is a subsidiary of the German company “Vebo Amtzell”, whose main activity is the production of tools for the production of parts for automatic transmissions. Currently, “Vebo Bosnia” designs and constructs tools that are produced in Germany. Derventa currently employs 17 workers, 15 of whom are mechanical engineers.
Dragan Babić, the director of “Vebo Bosnia”, says that after obtaining the construction permit, they started with the preparatory work, and that on Tuesday, October 9, there will be a ceremonial laying of the foundation stone, which will be attended by the owner of the company, the technical director and business partners from Sarajevo, Zagreb and Germany.
“We are building an administrative building of 400 m2 where we will house constructors-mechanical engineers, 25 to 30 of them, and a production hall where we will produce and assemble tools for the production of parts for automatic transmissions. We should move into new facilities in the spring and hire new people,” Babić said. The head of the municipality also expressed his satisfaction with the start of construction: “For almost two years, we have been talking about the prestigious company “Vebo Bosnia”, which was registered in Derventa. There was work to be done to secure the necessary documentation, and regardless of the fact that Derventa has a very well-organized operation, it had to be waited on from other levels because it is a foreign investor. The works officially started today, on Tuesday we will have the laying of the foundation stone and the visit of a high-ranking German delegation. We also hope for new foreign investors because there are 6, 7, 8 plots owned by the municipality here, with an area of about a hundred dunums”, said Mayor Simić.
